George Wood

Born in Lyncombe and Widcombe district Bath in 1833. He was married in 1854 to Ellen Drake both of full age. Described as a Carver living in Wells Road, Bath, while Ellen Lived in Bath Street daughter of William Drake a Tailor. By 1860 the couple were living at 23 Lower James Street, Bath when their son John Charles Wood was born. In the 1881 Census there is a record of a Geo Wood, married, aged 47 born in Bath Somerset and a Carver as an inmate in the "Lunatic Asylum" City & Co Bristol Stapleton, Gloucester, England. While his wife Ellen aged 48 lived at 13, Parson Street, Bristol St Philip & Jacob Out, Gloucester. With her were their children George W Wood a French polisher aged 25, William F Wood a wood carver aged 22, Sarah E Wood a general servant aged 18, Annie M Wood a general servant aged 13, Kate F Wood aged 1o and Alice L Wood aged 7.
