Eliza Annie Wood
Eliza Annie Wood (daughter of Henry Tadd a Timber Merchant) married John Charles Wood. He set up a picture framing business in St Augustine Parade, Bristol with his wife Eliza. They had eight children Violetta born 1887, Stanley born 1888, Olive born1890, Winifred born 1893, Clarrisa Nina born1894, Edna born 1897, Claude C born1898 and Rita K born 1899. John Charles Wood was now 40 yrs old and had suffered for many year's from illness perhaps a brain tumor. Sadly on the 4th August 1900 he comitted suicide, Eliza moved from Bristol to 95 Fore Street, Exeter to carry on the picture framing business. With Eliza were her children Violetta, Stanley, Claude and Rita. While Olive Winifred, Clarissa Nina and Edna were in Erskine Orphanage at Babbacombe Torquay On 19th January 1901 Eliza Annie Wood aged 35 married Arthur Bennett aged 25 at the Register Office Exeter. Described as a gentleman living at Farringdon House near Exeter his father James was a valet and now deceased.

Eliza exspanded the business until they had a row of three shops in Fore-street No. 94 Tom Smith the Tobacconists, (5 Woods Picture Frame Makers (and art dealers) and 96 Harry W. Reason the Drapers. Eliza also bought houses to let out around Exeter.She made a good life for her self and was a very devout christian and regularly attended high church at St. Olave's Church oppossite thier Shop (and early home) in Fore-street untill they were all sold and she retired with her husband until her death in 1936 and was reported as follows.

BEAUTIFUL FLORAL TRIBUTES
Funeral took place at Exeter yesterday of Mrs. E. Wood-Bennett, of 12, New North Road, Exeter, Who for forty years carried out a business in Fore Street as Woods picture dealers and picture framers, and who died on New Year's Day. The business was recently removed from Fore-street to premises in Southernhay East. Mrs. Wood-Bennett was well known for her charitable activities. Yesterday there was a calibration of Requiem Eucharist at St. Olave's Church, were deceased was a regular worshipper for many years. The simple service at the church in the afternoon was conducted by the rector (the Rev. E. C. Long). The body was enclosed in a wax-polished oak coffin with oxidised silver fittings. A full length Latin cross surmounted the lid, and a footplate bore the inscription "Eliza Wood-Bennett, died 1st January, 1938. Rest in peace. The immediate mourners were Mr. Arthur Bennett (husband), Mr. L and Mrs. Wood, Exeter (Son and daughter-in-law), Mr. S. and Mrs. Wood, Ringwood (son and daughter-in-law), Mrs. O. Rouse, Exeter (daughter), Mrs. W. Turner, Budleigh Salterton (daughter), Mr. L. and Mrs. Tredwin, Exeter (son-in-law and daughter), Mr. J. and Mrs Orchard, Exeter (son-in-law and daughter), Mrs. R. Kelland, London (daughter), Mr. C. and Mrs Wood, Bognor Regis (son and daughter-in-law), Mr. R. and Mrs. Moist, Exeter (son-in-law and daughter), Mrs E. Webber, Exeter (grand-daughter), Mr B, Wood, Exeter (grandson), and the Misses E. and G. Turner, Budleigh Salterton (grand-daughters). Mrs. Nash, St. Austell (eldest daughter), war prevented from attending. Those also attending the service include the Rev. T. A. Edmonds (Budleigh Salterton), the Rev. R. J. Sparrow (St. David's, Exeter), Mr. Arthur C. Reed, J. P., M. P., and Mrs Reed, Mr. H. and Mrs. Andrew, Mr. Sidney Andrew, Mr T. E. and Mrs. Vine (Mount Radford School, Exeter), Messer's. H. G. Rew, W. B. trick, J. H. Beedell, R. Arnold, R. Fenwick, A. G. Gardener, H. Mathews, E. G. Herbert, Elvin Frankish and A. W. Gater, Mesdames Rookes, Liddon, Haskings, Kilgannon, Appleby, Tapscott, Snell, Ford (Pinhoe), G. Wood, Kelland and Adams (Exmouth), Misses Croalegh (churchwarden), Chown, Gee, Pallett, Tadscott, and Mortimer, and Sisters of the Community of St. Wilfred's, Exeter. Mr. W. R. B. Arnold (churchwardens) was prevented from attending through indisposition.

W. Ackroyd and family; Mr. And mrs. Appleby and Buddles; all at 12, Bartholomew-street; Nina, Len, Peter and David; Mrs. Hassell; Mrs. Gooding; Mr. Brant and family; Josy and Reg; Ann; Violet, Tom and Michael; Stanley, Lily, and Michael; Mr. And Mrs Sundborg; Violet and Sidney Stroud; Mrs. Kilgaqnnon; Len; Mr. Sidney Andrews; Dick, Evelyn and Jimmy; Gladys; Mr. And Mrs. Theodore Vine; Mr. Greene; Rita, Reg and Doreen; Edna and John; Joan, Baby Louise and Patrict (Bognor Regis); Grace and Cyril. The interment took place subsequently at Exwick-road Cemetery. The funeral arrangements were entrusted to Mr. Harry Bidgood, of Holloway street, Exeter.
