John Francis Tredwin
John was born on the 20th June 1946 in Exeter. Soon after the family were living in a flat in Axminster, South Devon and within 18 Mths they had moved to White Haven Cottage near Axminster. He went to All-saints school (infants and junior) which was nearby. On passing his eleven-plus exam John went to Honiton Grammar School, after a year the family moved to Bristol where he attended Kingswood Grammar School.. At the age of fifteen John left school when the family moved to Torquay, John stayed in bristol and took a Job in a Mens outfitters. After a year he left the shop and took a job with Haul & Co who were a builders Merchants. This was in the Transport department and later transferred to the buying, Selling and estimating department.
By now he had met his wife Pam Martin who worked in his bank (Midland Bank) and they were married, they bought a house in Bristol and later moved to a house in Yatton. After Yatton they bought a detached cottage in the Mendips at Shipham near Chedder. Eventualy the company was bought out by Blue Circle Cement and redundancy came. John then landed a job with Swainals Builders Merchants in Nailsea to manage that depot.
