Harold Tredwin

Born in Sampford Arundel to Francis and Anne Tredwin in 1896 the youngest of six, he went to school at Sampford Arundel. After school he followed his father into the building trade. When the first world war came along he signed up and joined the North Somerset Yeomanry.

Harold ready for war

Posted to Mesopotamia in Turkey with a machine gun battalion. From here he was posted to France and it was here he was gassed. The effects of this stayed with him all his life. On returning to Sampford Arundel he went back to working with his father Francis in the family building business.
