· 1977 - 2002 25 years with Tyco Electronics Bideford as a toolmaker and technician. Gaining experience building and maintaining multi station die tools and manufacturing parts for die and mould tools. Eight of these years were spent on CNC and CAD/CAM in the wire erosion department initially on Agie's and programming with Unigraphic's, but mainly running Charmilles 2020's. Designing and programming with Pro-Engineer and Peps, responsible for running a shift in the WEDM department of 10 men. Three years on the Bridgeport interact programming and machining with its Heidenhain system. Years surface grinding on the Jones& Shipman 540 grinding machines, in the manufacture of die and mould parts. Five years experience gained in the fitting section building and maintaining multi station die tools on the bench and trouble shooting in the press-shop.
· 1975 - 1977 Two years with Molins in Peterborough as a miller setter and operator.
· 1973 - 1975 3 years with Ayers & Grimshaws as a miller setter and operator
· 1971 - 1973 2 years with Desmond Engineering at Combe Martin, as a miller setter and operator. Also operating the radial drill and bench assembly.
· 1967 - 1971 Apprenticed for four years with Ayers & Grimshaws.
Experienced/Trained in the following processes and machining disciplines · Forging, welding (MIG, TIG, ARC and Oxyacetylene Welding), brazing, silver and soft soldering, heat treatment. · Centre lath turning (including screw cutting). · Capstan and turret lath setting and turning. · Milling setting and operating horizontal, vertical and CNC (including helical milling, using a dividing head and rotary table). · Grinding (form, surface and cylindrical). · Fitting, assembly and fabrication of tools and machinery. · Wire erosion machining (Agies and Charmilles wire machines) · CAD/CAM design and programming.
